Christmas 2008

This was our 1st Christmas together as a family and Garrett's 2nd Christmas and I have to say it was a blast! I have had so much fun this year starting our own traditions and practicing the old ones, looking back on all the good memories of when Adam & I were children and making new ones together! Now our family has basically had 3 Christmas's so I'll share with you each one alittle bit!

Poppy & Nana's house: We went to my In-laws on Christmas Eve and had dinner with the family and then gathered around and opened presents! Adam & I received a movie rental gift card and all the goodies in the world one would need to enjoy a movie & the greatest couples devotional book that starts Jan 1st! Can't wait...Adam's as crazy about it as I am! My brother-n-law got me a candle and body wash they both smell amazing and he got Adam the family guy seasons...he is now Adam's hero! My sister-n-law got me the sweetest picture with an amazing saying about God & last but not least Garrett got a piggy bank from aunt Georgi and soccer goal & ball from uncle Eric blocks, a lamb, devotional book, and recliner chair from Nana & poppy! We had a great Christmas there!

Garrett just loves the train that runs around Nana & poppy's tree!

uncle Eric giving aunt Georgi her Christmas present...(it's not a cooler that's just how Eric wraps!)
Garrett loves his soccer ball he's been kicking it everywhere & I can't say enough about that recliner he looks so cute sitting in it!

We love you Nana & Poppy, aunt Georgi & uncle Eric!

Daddy & Mommy's house:Well the night before Garrett and mommy lay ed out Christmas cookies for Santa and went to bed early so Santa would come and leave presents and that's exactly what happened! Santa left a kitchen set and food for the kitchen for Garrett and left stockings for all of us

Garrett was so excited to open his stocking!
among all the goodies in Garrett's stockings were these two t-shirts! Wow Santa must know this family very well.

After we all opened our stockings Garrett got to start opening presents from mommy & daddy! He got a rocking horse, blocks {different from Nana's}, a vacuum that talks, a big truck, movies and other toys. Daddy got mommy ear rings, a UNC shirt {ha}, Signs so I can hang everywhere, ornaments and Mommy got daddy two hats, a dress shirt, gift card, business card holder, picture frame! I guess you can say we had a Great 1st Christmas!

Garrett thought he could ride this truck like he does his other!

Adam modeling one of his new hats! {he got a UNC one too}

After opening all those presents Adam made us a huge breakfast of biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs, orange juice & hot chocolate........{MMM good} But after all that food we had to lay around and rest before we headed off to our 3rd Christmas in Wilson!

Gran & Pa's house: We arrived in Wilson about 5:30 about the time people were beginning to eat! There was tons of food and tons of family it really was a great turn out! Garrett had most of his little cousins to play with so you can say I didn't see him much! After a little bit of fellowship we opened presents! Garrett got a Christmas book, gift card, and flashlight {thank you Gran & Pa} Adam & I got a coin counter, Thermos for coffee, spoon holder and gift card! We spent the night and went home the next morning! We had a blast and can't wait for next year!

Cookies for Santa

Garrett & I have been in the kitchen today making Santa some cookies for tonight when he brings Garrett presents because he's been such a good little boy this year!

Garrett got a little bored waiting for them to bake. He turned on the oven light and sat right there playing with the cookie cutters til they were done!

We didn't realize they'd get so big!!! But they taste great! I think Santa will be pleased!

I hope everyone enjoys this Christmas Eve....Remember the reason for the Season!

Merry Christmas & God bless

*Just a minute ago our mail came and my brother & sister -n- law & the cutest little girl my niece Kaitlyn sent Garrett the cutest Little people airport and a pair of overalls and the cutest little plaid shirt! Thank you so much we love it! *

Christmas part 2

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Today Adam took Garrett & I to get our very first Real Christmas tree! I've been a little weird about a real tree ...well I think because I've never had one and I have to say once we arrived I felt like a kid in a candy store! I was so excited! There was so many! We looked for about 10 min but when we saw the tree we got we knew it was perfect for us!

Garrett looking for the perfect tree for our First Christmas as a family!
He heard a chainsaw and got a little upset.....I don't think he's a huge fan of chainsaws
there it is... our first tree! I'm so proud of our tree!

Here our tree is all done up! I was so into decorating that I forgot to get pictures of us putting on all the ornaments!

Garrett's very own tree! Most of his ornaments are ones from last year (baby's 1st Christmas) but mommy & daddy got him some for our 1st Christmas together & we made some!

This tree is for all of mine & Adam's ornaments from our childhood....I'm Winnie the Poor and he's Sesame street!
Our stockings are up and patiently waiting for Santa to fill them!

We hope all of you are getting as excited for the holidays as we are here in the Dwiggins household! And remember the the real reason we get together for this holiday.....Christ!

Christmas with Granny & grandpa Joe!

Garrett in front of my mom's Christmas tree!

We had Christmas at my mom's this past Saturday....some family came over to celebrate with tons of food and Garrett got tons of presents! He is one spoiled little boy! He got a table and chairs with Curious George coloring books and PJ's
Garret and my mom tring out the markers and the new table!
I think Garrett colored more on his face then he did in his new coloring books!

Then Grandpa Joe brought over this giant blue puppy dog ball pit that Garrett just adored! When Garrett climbs through the tunnel the dog barks and sings it's the cutest thing!

Garrett had so much fun playing in there....Where going to blow it up tonight!

Then my grandma & grandpa Fred came over and brought and electric 4 wheeler! As soon as Garrett opened it he jumped on and tried to go!

Garrett & his Granny!
of all the presents Garrett got and he got a lot he decide to sit in a box! Thanks again mom for having such a nice Christmas for us! I love all the things I got...I already have the signs up and I've already used some of my body wash! And Adam's already tried to play corn hole in the living room!

Opening all those presents made Garrett hungry I guess!

Again thank you to everyone who helped make this Christmas a special one! Damien & Mandy thanks again for the basketball hoop Adam & Garrett play a lot (Daddy's UNC & Garrett's UK!) And Grandma thanks for the dishes Adam & I can't wait to use them! Last but not lest aunt Hannah & uncle Chris thank you for the Cars tent & cup and plate set I've been using the plate and cup already!

We LOVE you & Merry Christmas!
